You’re all ready to jump into your spa… you have your bathing suit on, the perfect playlist, and a crave-able snack to enjoy your time of relaxation. You step outside and then it hits… the rain.

Don’t let a little sun shower stop you from enjoying your time in your spa! Embrace the weather and step out into the water. Relaxing in your hot tub during the rain can be a unique experience and provide some of the most enjoyable, memorable moments within your spa. Just remember to use general caution; if there’s lightning or thundering outside, we’d advise to remain indoors.

Here’s 4 ways you can still enjoy your relaxing soak, even in the rain:

1) Just jump on in!

You’re going to get wet anyway. Why let a few little droplets of rain stop you? The sound of rain pattering can even improve your relaxation experience. Think of it as a natural source of white noise from Mother Nature. Rather than a hindrance, soaking in your spa during the rain could actually increase your relaxation benefits.

2) Grab a warm drink

Your hot tub will warm up your lower body, but the rain may make your upper body feel a little chilly. Before you head out, grab a thermos and heat up hot tea to enjoy in your spa. You’ll be left feeling warm and cozy inside and out.

3) Prep for exit

You may be used to leaving your towel next to you as you sit in your spa. Make sure to leave a warm towel in a dry place so that when you step out of your spa, it’s not soaked from the rain. A fun tip we like for keeping towels warm — and dry — is to heat up your towel in the dryer for a few minutes before your soak then place it in an empty cooler to keep the heat trapped in and the rain out while you enjoy your spa.

4) Grab the Essentials

If you’re feeling really bugged out by the rain, just grab an umbrella or ball cap! Either of these utilities will keep the raindrops from falling on your head, and you can still appreciate the relaxing pattering of the raindrops. Sitting out in the rain can help enliven the senses and make you more aware of the environment around your spa. You may be surprised to watch how your backyard oasis transforms during tropical shower.
