Hot tubs from Dream Maker Spas are designed to be simple to clean — so you can spend less time maintaining your spa and more time enjoying it! Here are our top tips to ensure that your spa stays clean and is ready to enjoy whenever you need some hydrotherapy!

1) Clean the filter

Regularly checking and cleaning your filter can help your water stay clearer longer. Before cleaning your filter, turn your spa off so debris is not circulating while your filter is not in the spa. Simply remove the filter from the easy access filtration system and hold it up to your garden hose to flush out loose dirt and debris. After washing, replace the filter back into your spa, and you’re ready to go! This quick process makes it easy for you to get back to lounging and enjoying your spa in no time.

2) Change the water

Your spa filter will help reduce the buildup of naturally occurring impurities, reducing the need to perform a full-spa water change on a regular basis. How often you change your water will depend on how often you use your hot tub and how clean and balanced you keep your water, ranging from every couple months to a couple times a year. It’s best to wait for warm weather to drain, clean, and refill your spa to avoid ice in and around your spa area. After draining the spa through the EZ Access Drain Valve, you can wipe the shell down with a gentle cloth. Then you’ll be able to refill your spa and enjoy!

3) Keep it covered

Every hot tub from Dream Maker Spas comes with a free WeatherShield spa cover. Keeping your spa covered is the number one way you can keep excess debris, pollen, and outdoor elements out of your water while your spa is not in use.

To keep your WeatherShield spa cover in good condition, we recommend checking it daily to ensure that snow or leaves have not accumulated on it. Spot cleaning the spa cover can also help it last longer. To do do this, simply lay the spa cover down on a flat surface and give it a good rinse with the hose to help loosen and remove any trapped dirt. Wipe down the cover with a damp cloth to keep it looking good as new!
