We planned an evening of grilling and hot tubbing with friends, and it’s gone better than we could have hoped for! Everybody loves the hot tub and they’re having so much fun laughing, talking, and enjoying this warm spring weather. It’s just… the evening turned into night, and the night has turned into late night, and our guests are still here.

How do we get them to leave??

Hi Sleepy,

Congrats on throwing a great hot tub party! We should have warned you, though, that when you have a hot tub from Dream Maker Spas, some of your guests will have so much fun that it might be hard to get them to leave. Here are some simple tips for getting lingering guests out the door:

Start cleaning up. As long as you’re hanging out in the hot tub with your guests, comfy hot tubbers will have no reason to get up and get out. If you’ve been grilling or had food set out, put it away and start cleaning up around guests. Gather any cover-ups and towels around the patio and bring them right by the hot tub for easy access.

If you have music playing, go ahead and cut that off. Did you hang fun string lights or set out lanterns to set the mood? Switch those pretty lights off and flip on the bright patio lights (do you have glaring floodlights? Even better!)

At this point we guess you’ve already tried the ol’ yawn and stretch. If your friends haven’t gotten the hint, add in some verbal cues. “Well I am worn out! I wish I didn’t have that appointment so early tomorrow,” is a good starting point.

The truth is, though, if they’re good enough friends to come hot tubbing, they’re good enough friends that they can appreciate honesty. Instead of hinting for them to leave, you can just tell it like it is: “Guys, you’re the best, but I’m exhausted. Let’s wrap this up.”

All good things must come to an end, and that includes your awesome hot tub party. It seems like all these friends really enjoy being in your company, so we’re pretty sure that no feelings will be hurt when it’s time for the fun to end.
