Owning a hot tub allows you to enjoy your patio and outdoor living space, even during the cold months of autumn and winter. Bring the fun back outdoors this season with a hot tub party!

Decorate your spa area

Since it gets darker earlier, you can enjoy the illumination of the MoonGlo LED Backlit waterfall. The optional LED Ambiance lighting package can provide additional lighting to your hot tub area. Adding more lighting around your hot tub area can make the space more inviting. Hanging string lights and lanterns are all great options.

Outdoor curtains provide visual privacy around your hot tub, and though they won’t offer much insulation, heavier curtains can block light breezes. If you’re in a windy area, a more sturdy partition or privacy screen around your spa may be desirable to block wind.

Bring the heat

Your guests will be cozy in the warm waters of your hot tub, but you want them to be comfortable when they get out too. Patio heaters are a great option for warming the pathway between your door and the spa. If you’re in a very cold environment, an outdoor towel heater will warm up everyone’s towels while they soak. Have plenty of extra towels on hand, so guests are not required to reuse a cold, damp towel.

Ask guests to bring hats to wear while soaking, because most body heat is lost through the head. A winter hat that covers the ears will keep your head comfortable while the rest of the body is in the warm water. If you have extra hats, make them available for guests that do not have one of their own.

Provide seasonal refreshments

Remind guests to stay hydrated during their soak and provide plenty of water. There are also some great seasonal nonalcoholic beverage recipes online, like this fennel apple spritzer, an Asian pear sparkler, a refreshing autumn chiller, or this simple cinnamon-infused water. Save the hot toddy and other alcoholic beverages for after your soak, since alcohol and hot tubbing are not a safe mix.

Look up

Some of the best stargazing is in the fall and winter, when humidity is low and the night sky is crisp and clear. Turn out all the lights and look up. You and your guests can take in the beauty of the night sky in the warmth of the hot tub while massaging jets ease away tension. It doesn’t get much more relaxing than that.

Hot tubs provide entertainment and enjoyment any time of the year, but during the colder months it’s easy to see why the warm waters are so inviting. Your friends will agree that on a chilly evening, there’s no better place to be than in the hot tub.
