People often associate pools to water workouts such as water aerobics, but did you know your hot tub offers unique advantages to enhance your health and fitness as well? Pools may allow for more space, however the warm water from your hot tub increases blood flow and reduces toxins in your body, which contributes to overall better cardiovascular health. Not only that, but you also sweat more without realizing due to the heat and steam of the water. The next time you’re soaking in your Dream Maker Spa, don’t just sit there! Try these simple health-enhancing exercises;

  • Squats – Squatting can be somewhat uncomfortable in a gym setting, and hard on your joints. While standing in your hot tub, extend your arms out in front of you for balance and thrust your hips back, as if you were going to sit in a chair. Make sure to keep your knees at a 90oangle, stand, and repeat.
  • Leg Lifts – To strengthen your core, sit in your Dream Maker Spa and get a good grip on the seat or side. Next, bring both knees inward to your chest and then fully extend your legs together. Repeat this motion while making sure to keep your back straight.
  • Upper Body – While sitting, submerge your arms underwater, extending them outwards at your side. Next, keep your hands flat and make a clapping motion while still leaving your arms submerged. This workout not only targets your arms, but also your chest and shoulders.

It is important to remember that fitness levels vary and to never do an exercise you are not comfortable with.  For those of you who are active and want to kick your water workout up a notch, a plethora of aquatic exercise equipment can be found online to help you tone, while still enjoying the low impact benefit of your hot tub.  The best part of working out in your Dream Maker Spa is being able to fully relax and enjoy your soak once finished!
